At 14, Leticia immigrated to the United States with her parents and three siblings, chasing the American Dream. Their first night in The United States was spent in a cold garage cluttered with boxes of old items and dusty furniture.
The following years were filled with hardships—living in cold garages and cramped spaces while her parents worked tirelessly as farmworkers to make ends meet.
Those struggles lit a fire in Leticia. She turned to education as her path to freedom, vowing to build a future where her family would never have to endure such hardships again.
Leticia’s road to higher education was anything but smooth. Despite her exceptional academic achievements, her family lacked the financial means to pay for her college education.
Determined to become the first in her family to graduate college, Leticia began working as a farm worker to fund her education. In 2019, after 6.5 years, she achieved her dream of becoming the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree.
In 2019, she also secured her first corporate job at a Fortune 500 company, believing she had finally “made it.” However, two years later, Leticia realized she was being significantly underpaid—a common story for many first-generation Latinas and women of color.
From a dusty cold garage to financial empowerment
Leticia is a first-generation trailblazing Latina, the eldest daughter of immigrant parents, a first-generation investor, a proud mom, a career pivoter, and an entrepreneur. She has experienced firsthand the challenges, financial struggles, and systemic inequities faced by people of color due to a lack of financial resources and access to financial literacy.
Leticia’s journey—from uncertainty to confidently transforming her own financial life—has inspired her to empower other Latinas to take control of their financial futures and break generational cycles of financial hardship.
Rather than feeling defeated, this realization became a turning point. Determined to advocate for herself, Leticia took charge of her career, negotiated a promotion to a management role, and secured a six-figure salary. This pivotal moment reshaped her financial future and empowered her to take control of her financial education, advocate for herself at every step, and take charge of her financial future.
By taking charge of her financial transformation, Leticia was able to:
- Establish herself as a six-figure earner, setting a strong salary baseline and changing her financial trajectory
- Save $30,000 in just 18 months

Despite being highly educated, Latinas continue to face significant challenges in negotiating their pay and being compensated fairly, managing their finances, and making strategic decisions to build long-term financial security.
She firmly believes financial literacy is the key to unlocking economic mobility and building generational wealth.
